External Entry

Overview

The External Entry Tab enables users to manually post and manage off-market or external transactions directly within their portfolios. Users can record various non-exchange transactions like IPOs, rights issues, bonus shares, off-market trades, and others. This ensures accurate tracking and comprehensive portfolio management.

Posting and Managing External Trades

  1. Symbol: Select the security symbol for the external transaction using the search option.
  2. Trade Date: Enter the date of the transaction in DD/MM/YYYY format.
  3. Transaction Type: Choose from several transaction types:
    • IPO: Shares acquired through an Initial Public Offering.
    • Off Market: Private trades conducted outside stock exchanges.
    • Bonus: Additional shares received through bonus issues.
    • Split: Reflect stock splits where shares are subdivided.
    • Right: Shares purchased via rights issues.
    • Sell: Off-market sell transactions.
    • Capital Redemption: Record company’s repayment of shares or capital.
    • Others: Miscellaneous transactions.
  4. Buy/Sell Selection: Indicate whether the transaction is a buy or sell.
  5. Quantity and Rate: Enter the number of shares and the rate at which they were transacted.
  6. Add Entry: Click Add to record the transaction.

Managing External Holdings

The External Holdings section provides users with a detailed view of previously entered external trades and corporate actions. This feature ensures complete tracking and management of non-market holdings.

How to Access and Use External Holdings:

  1. Filter by Date Range: Specify the From Date and To Date to narrow down the list of transactions.
  2. Table View: The holdings are displayed in a table format with the following columns:
  3. Symbol: The security associated with the transaction.
  4. Tran Date: The date when the transaction occurred.
  5. Type: The type of transaction (e.g., IPO, Bonus, Off Market).
  6. Buy/Sell: Indicates whether the transaction was a purchase or sale.
  7. Quantity: The number of shares involved.
  8. Rate: The transaction rate per share.

Purpose of External Holdings:

  • Track non-market transactions and corporate actions accurately.
  • Ensure the portfolio reflects both on-market and off-market transactions.
  • Maintain proper records for Auditing, Tax filing, and Portfolio review.
